What is bic?
Black Infinity Collective is a freedom fighting, movement-building organization dedicated to healing and liberation for all Black people.
Our work is guided by our ancestors and inspired by present-day leaders. We are grateful for the example set by Octavia Butler, Marsha P. Johnson, Marlon Riggs, Essex Hemphill, James Baldwin, Miss Major, Laverne Cox, and modeling organizations such as BLMP and Octavia Project. We are Black, Bold and Boundless.
BIC is lead by…

Ashley Donea (she/her/hers) is the Executive Director of Black Infinity Collective. She is Black, Queer, small yet mighty, and grounds her work through a Black queer feminist lens. Ashley’s mission is to help create liberated spaces using art, Black cultural events, and conversation as channels for community healing.
Ashley is a facilitator that loves to lead community conversations and cultivate spaces for Black people to experience joy. Ashley previously worked at a financial institution as an Account Manager until 2017, when she left to pursue her passion for mission-driven, value oriented, work. Guided by her experiences volunteering in Hartford and Brooklyn, and her roots in the Black church, Ashley made the transition to BIC (then CTCORE) during the #FreeTaz campaign, when multiple grassroots organizations came together to oppose the deportation of Taz. Ashley believes that transformative practices lead to liberated spaces, and liberated spaces created the opportunity for justice. She hopes to continue that work here at BIC.
